Cassville Fire Protection District offers free smoke alarms and installation to anyone who lives within our fire district.

Smoke Alarm Tips

Install smoke alarms in every sleeping room, as well as outside each sleeping area

Larger homes may need extra alarms
-
Test your smoke alarms at least once a month.

When a smoke alarm sounds, go outside and stay outside

Replace all smoke alarms in your home every 10 years

Facts about smoke alarms

In 2012-2016, smoke alarms sounded in more then 53% of the home fires
-
Almost three out of every five fire related deaths resulted from fires in homes without smoke alarms or working smoke alarms
-
Dead batteries cause 25% of smoke alarm failures

We recommend changing the batteries in your smoke alarms twice a year. The recommended time to do so is during daylight savings time. When you change your clocks, also change your smoke alarm batteries.
